Returning from the Labyrinth

“…for the heroes of all time have gone before us; the labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path.” Here it is. “And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a God; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.” (www.onbeing.org)

This quote is knocking around inside my soul. If I consider that the hero’s journey fills up my life then I am at the centre of the labyrinth where I need to slay a few demons then I can follow the path that I have created for myself back out. I can pick up the things that I have left behind, dust them off, come out changed and renewed.
